Over the last few weeks I've been experimenting with different types of delays. It's not an effect that's usually associated with bass players, but I find that it adds a real depth to your sound as long as you're using it within a situation that works well.

By that I mean I probably wouldn't use it when playing grooves or bass lines where I need my sound and feel to really 'lock in' with the rest of the band, but for more textural and atmospheric situations it can really work.

This is a short video I recorded last week before we started recording our usual lessons for the day. It's loosely based on the fantastic song "Send in the Clowns" by Stephen Sondheim.
