===== About BAT4 Vermilion =====
It's Vermilion as we know him, the expert firearms user. In BAT4 he wears his classic black 'raven' outfit from BAT2, and gains extra weapons. He is the only character in the game who is lone and not part of a team.
As the game's storyline is set 10 years after the events of Toshinden 3, it is natural that it introduces a virtually completely new cast of characters. Eiji and Vermilion are the only characters to make a return from the previous games. I find it funny that Eiji's hair/eyebrows have completely turned white/greyed out, considering that it has only been 10 years since BAT3 (Eiji was only 23 at the time).
