"Battle Arena Toshinden (バトルアリーナ闘神伝, Batoru Arīna Tōshinden) is a weapons-based fighting game developed by Tamsoft and published by Takara and Sony Computer Entertainment in 1995 for the PlayStation, followed by 1996 ports for the Sega Saturn, Game Boy and MS-DOS. It was one of the first fighting games, after Virtua Fighter in 1993 on arcade and console, to boast polygonal characters in a 3D environment, and features a sidestep maneuver which is credited for taking the genre into "true 3D."

Before there was Soul Edge, There was this. Being the first 3D Weapons based fighting game released as one of the PlayStation's Launch Titles in NA, And because it was so early back then, It has things like both players ringed out (Even if you won) counting as a Draw, Controls being jank, trying to pull special moves like supers and hidden moves is such a pain in the butt to do, and more. And the AI, If you have it on hard, is just as bad as SSF2T's, Early Tekken Games, and SNK's AI, But even then it has some flaws, as shown in a few fights.

This run finishes the game on one credit as Eiji. Eiji has all the tools needed to get through AI Players with little to no problems, And the fact he's easy to pick up and play helps out a lot. Even with the tools needed, The earliness and the tough AI means that I even have some little trouble getting through some of the later fights, But I even get to fight Earthworm Jim after defeating Sho (And I have the difficulty set to Hard, where I thought I would only fight Gaia and Sho but I still end up fighting Jim).

Played on the DOS Version, Via RetroArch with DOSBox Pure.
