22Let me tell you a story.
It was an invasion. An incursion. A deep raid, not of Dark Elves, no. They had been brutally dispatched and swept to the four winds by the new arrival. These were other pirates... the pirates that no longer drew breath. And so it was they came to the land of the elves in search of plunder.
This was not quite a full army, but a large detachment flying the banner of the Lamprey, the ship of the wicked Siren, Cylostra Direfin. These elves cared little for flags or the nature of their foe. They knew only that such abominations fouled the very land and needed to be purged. All the more so for this was the Shrine of Khaine, where the abominable blade that bears the fierce deity's name is meant to be enshrined, kept away from fickle mortal hands.
And so it was that this force met the foul vampire admiral, Catherine Wolesey, and her zombie minions in battle, not suspecting the tragedy that was to befall them...
