Sometimes you want a small simple game to give yourselves a break from those big box games we all know and love, and you just need some time to decompress, and a break from heavier games, and there are games out there like that. Take Battlecrest, a 1 v 1, or 2 v 2 (with an expansion), battle game, which pits characters with solid art assets, and interesting mechanics together into a simple enough, but still strategic game that will surprise you with its depth, and ingenuity.
Where this game shines is the fact that this game can be learned in as quick as several minutes, takes about 30 seconds to setup, and your off to the races, battling your friends, where flipping cards is the entire stratagy of the game. Want to use an ability, well, tap that card, want to power up an ability, tap another card, run out of cards, start flipping them over to reveal all new actions for your character.
And each character has its own playstyle, from heavy melee focus, to ranged play with minions, to defense centric characters, and at the end of the day, this game is smaller, and cheaper than many games out there!
