Battlefield V - SourceError, Smoking Kills
After literally thousands of hours of playing Battlefield V, I've accumulated a number of clips that at first glance appear to be somewhat suspect. I promise you that I employ no cheats of any kind, never have and never will. I don't use a controller so I don't even benefit from BFV's built in aim-assist. Nevertheless, there is something you'll be missing when watching these clips and that is context. nVidia's shadowplay recording feature doesn't quite capture what any player is seeing live while they're playing the game. Besides only capturing a fraction of the frames a player sees, subtle shadows in smoke and squad ping marks can sometimes be compressed away. The youtube compression algorithm will further degrade the image quality you see. Aside from that, there's audio context that is hard to make out because of the soundtrack. Many of the close up kills in smoke were a result of me simply being able to hear the enemy player in front of me even though I couldn't necessarily make them out visually. In addition to this, the context provided by time is greatly limited in these clips. What I saw prior to smoke being deployed is also information that is largely lost in these clips. Lastly, there is the element of volume. I'm not a particularly good player, my aim is pretty poor but if you shoot long enough into smoke clouds, eventually you will hit something. The many many times I shoot into smoke and hit nothing doesn't make it into highlights.
I want to thank an extremely talented Battlefield streamer Catalyst_HD for giving me permission to use a clip from his twitch VOD that appears as a post credit to this video. Subscribe to Catalyst_HD here on youtube:

Full credit for the wall-bang kill here belongs to my friend and squad-mate DrWumbo4 who having had just been killed by Catalyst_HD made sure to continuously ping his killer's location so that I could track him through the sandbags and avenge my squad-mate. No wall-hacks required.
