Battlezone 2016 Gameplay (Non-VR Version) - A Quick Look into Rebellion's Take on Battlezone
Hello everyone! I'm not fully out of the loads of University stuff I had to take care of throughout this week, but it gave me a temporary break to rest today, so I took my opportunity and recorded this little gameplay of the only Battlezone game in my possession I hadn't showcased yet: the Battlezone game from 2016, created by Rebellion. I recorded this gameplay with the Xbox Game Bar.
Unlike the games made by Activision in the late 90's, this one is a pure First-Person Shooter game, which can be played by up to four players in Co-Op adventure. The premise of the game is a sort of Terminator plot, excluding the time travel part. A Military AI became rogue and forced mankind to hide underground to avoid extermination. Then the human forces developed War Machinery to fight back, but the AI Vehicles were superior. That was, until the humans developed the Cobra Tank. A versatile Tank, capable of taking down any AI Unit, but they still needed a sufficiently skilled Operator to effectively turn the tide of the war on the Humans' favor. Then is when the player steps up.
However, the Rogue AI, which Core is hidden inside a Volcano, would quickly learn about the Cobra Tank, and is currently preparing its countermeasure: the Nemesis Tank, but it takes its time and amount of information to develop it properly. Also, only one Nemesis Tank can be deployed on a Battlezone at a time. It is up to the player(s) to overcome these odds and destroy the AI Core to put an end to this war and save mankind from its ultimate defeat.
I played a Medium Campaign on Normal Difficulty with the Classic Tank to show you a bit of the game, then I showed the Arsenal that can be unlocked and the Customization Items that were originally DLC, but Rebellion included them in the Base Game when they released the Gold Edition, as well as they made VR optional instead of mandatory, as it was before. Finally, I played the "Classic Mode", which was a modern take on the classic Atari's Battlezone from 1980. This mode also features a Leaderboard.
I'm not making a series of this game, because I pretty much completed it already. The only achievements I haven't unlocked are those that require playing with other three players, and the one that asks you to collect 10 million Data, an amount that requires insane grinding to gather. Still, I hope you'll enjoy this game too.
See you in the next video!
