Riven: The Sequel to Myst Gameplay Part 10 - And Finally, the Good Ending...
Sort of. I didn't realize at first I had to clear one final puzzle to release Catherine, so I thought I reached a "softlock point" and loaded the game again. I'm glad I decided to check again Gehn's Bedroom to figure out solve that last obstacle, but I also feel stupid because I could have gotten the Good Ending the last time I tried in the previous video. After setting Catherine free, the game pretty much forces you to go straight for the Star Fissure and reach the ending.
This ending, which is the canonical one, still left me with many questions, but I assume that the player's character found a way to survive its time in the Star Fissure, because there is a sequel to this game, called "Myst III: Exile". I'll take my time to upload videos of that game, though, because I need to focus on my University duties. Playing this game left me unsettled when I couldn't find a way forward, in the same way as when I'm incapable of solving a problem for my thesis. But don't get me wrong, I loved this game. I just sort of played it at the wrong time, when I had many problems to think of.
Anyway, I'll leave this series for a while. In the meantime, I'll consider revisiting one of my running series, although I'm not ruling out starting a new one. I may decide once I solve some University stuff that I must have ready by the end of this month.
See you in the next video!
