8Doesn't matter what difficulty it is, Masked Lumen is a stupid enemy. He has no warning on some of his attacks and will often backtrack away as soon as you activate Witch Time so you can't even hit him. The Arwing Blasters actually chip away at him outside of Witch Time.. but you'll still need to activate it before you can do any real damage. Sometimes Witch Time just fails to activate in these fights. You even get the slowdown on the dodge, it just simply does not activate. Not even for a split second.
Seriously these fights are just stupid. They are not fun or fair at all. I have thought that from the very beginning, I still think that today. This is just terrible enemy design. This is without a doubt one of the worst boss fight I have ever encountered.
But, at least you can just pummel him into the ground with Umbran Armor Jump Punch. I was trying to bounce him off a wall into an air combo at the end, but I ended up missing with the flying kicks.. Oh well. If you manage to get him in the air you can sort of stunlock him with the Arwing Blasters, but he can still break out of randomly hit you on the ground. Especially on the last phase.
