Bayonetta: First Climax is a demo for the original Bayonetta, released for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in October 2009, close to its Japanese release date, and just under 3 months before its worldwide release date. What's so remarkable about it? Well the PS3 version has been sadly delisted, but the 360 version includes at least one unique variant of a verse, and a unique arrangement of verses compared to how they appear in the full game!

There are multiple videos of this demo on YouTube, but I can't find any of someone getting a pure platinum on it, so I set out to do it myself. Was quite hard, as I'm not amazing at this game, despite it being my favorite of all time! It's on normal, but you're stuck with a near-default Bayo who doesn't have any additional techniques, weapons, or accessories except for air dodge, Scarborough Fair on one weapon set, and Shuraba/Onyx Roses on the other. I must say, going back to normal difficulty and really honing the fundamentals has been valuable and I'm glad I did it, even if it took 20 hours. Some details about the demo you might find interesting:

-Verse 1, despite being ranked and having health, magic, drops, and torture attacks, doesn't have angel weapons or a working taunt
-Verse 1 also features a rare bug I've run into multiple times after the first clocktower explosion, where performing an air combo gets Bayonetta stuck in the air (this absolutely destroys your ability to get a platinum combo rank) (EDIT: This bug also exists in the final game, though it's redundant since the final game's version of this fight is unranked)
-The platinum combo par for verse 1 is ridiculously high, so you MUST get through without your combo breaking (over 200K)
-Air dodge is the only unlockable technique Bayonetta has in this demo
