BCR2: Point of No Return in 2:36.252
Making a video for ZELLLOOO. He recently beat my IL time for this stage, so I decided to revisit it and see what I could do with what I've learned since then. The result is this 18-second improvement over my PB, and a 12-second improvement over his time.
A 2:2X is absolutely possible, but would require using some risky strats and rolling for ideal luck, which I wouldn't ever try in a single-segment run. All of the strats seen in this video are things I would feel comfortable using in a full-game run.
This was run with the purpose of optimizing for real time. There is a cutscene glitch that I believe would result in a lower in-game time, but would be slower in real time. In the first interior room, if you hit the last switch with a rocket as you die to the napalm launcher, you will respawn with control during the cutscene and are able to move towards the exit before the cutscene finishes. I don't think cutscenes count towards IGT in this game, so that would be an easy way to cut some time off. I believe the same strat would also work in the crusher switch room, but that would require navigating the crushers blindly.
Fun level! Really enjoyed playing it more.
