Beating Mega Man 2 (NES) hard difficulty & no continues, My Playthrough (2/2/2025)
I owned several Mega Man games as a kid back in the 80s and 90s, including this one, so I've definitely beaten it before but back then I didn't play on difficult mode and I didn't care if I had to use continues. It's fun and challenging, though didn't seem quite as hard as the first game.
I died 3 times in this playthrough, twice on the stupid lasers in Quick Man's stage and once from the Mecha Dragon. I also messed up in the Boobeam trap, missing my target such that my first crash bomb only destroyed the wall and not both the wall and laser. That left me with no more crash bombs for the 2nd phase of the Wily Machine so I had to use metal blades instead along with an energy tank.
I've definitely played those stages better but I think this playthrough is good enough. I've been on this game for too long now and it's time to move on.
