Beating People, Not Tetris
7Discussing the recent "beating Tetris" news, and why that's not actually true. The impressive feat by 13-year-old Willis Gibson definitely isn't the first kill screen to be reached, and won't be the last.
Note: My explanation works conceptually but is NOT CORRECT. It isn't about the number of scoring events, but rather how each event is calculated. For complex reasons single line clears are more computationally demanding than multiple line clears.
