This tutorial we show you the best controller settings for Modern Warfare 2 for better aim and movement. With so many settings it can be difficult to know exactly what is best. Ideally, you want to customize your MW2 controller settings for quicker movement. This will allow you to quickly engage or disengage with enemies.

For Modern Warfare 2 you will want to use the same controller settings for Xbox, PS4 and PS5. If you're on PC then you can use whatever controller you feel comfortable with.

Typically, the best button layout for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is tactical. This will switch the melee and crouch buttons. The tactical button layout is preferred as it allows you to quickly change your stance without removing your thumb from the stick. Allowing you to move and adjust your aim ass needed.

Additionally, you will want to have the best aim assist settings for MW2. For aim assist type you will want to use Black Ops or Standard. Both aim assist settings feel similar, however, we recommended the Black Ops aim assist setting. Pairing the aim assist with a dynamic response curve will have your controller aim feel accurate.

To help reduce the impact movement has on your aim you will want to set the camera movements to least. This will help reduce shaking so you can be more accurate with your aim in MW2.

If you are having trouble tracking enemy players then you may want to change your field of view. A high field of view will make players appear smaller and further away. Resulting in it being harder to follow the movement of the player.

Additionally, players with pro controllers will want to adjust their paddle or button binds. Ideally, binding at least jump onto a pro controller should improve movement in Modern Warfare 2. With jump on a back paddle or button you can easily jump while still controlling your aim. Other great options for pro controller binds are slide, reload, melee, and change weapons.
