In this first part of my new Big Battle Rules series we are going to talk about what mechanics i like and what mechanics i don't like from Big Battles rule sets i have played during my Wargaming years.
In this first Chapter we start with :
1. SWORDPOINT 2nd Edition
2. DAYS OF KNIGHTS 2
3 Never Mind The Billhooks Deluxe
First mistake i made in DOK2 part of the video was that the Mounted knights CAN turn 90 degrees automatically without a commander attached if they are in a flanking position after destroying a unit in hand to hand combat. But in general except for this specific case the rules apply units need a Character attached to perform any kind of maneuver.
Second Mistake:
As pointed out by a friend of the channel There are follow up moves in Billhooks that i probably forgot again..;)
Here are the exact rules
'' Winning & Losing the Melee, winning cavalry & Kern will always follow-up & other units with a leader may chose to follow-up or not. Winning units with no leader hold their ground. Winning units will not follow-up if there is a third round as they are deemed too exhausted.''
