This brings me back to memories of Zombie Survival again, though thankfully without the copious amounts of TNT use. Probably a bug, considering one of them somehow managed to merge themselves into the ceiling, but it's atleast a fun one. I'll take the funny bugs over the game breaking ones anyday.

That said, the idea of a boss type enemy that takes more than a few bursts to kill could be interesting to spice up the usual runs. The tricky part is balancing the encounter so it won't just wipe the player's face the moment the encounter starts.
