8Eric Cantona overcame difficulties and spats with clubs such as Marseille, Bordeaux and Nimes in his native land, as well as suffering the ignominy of being dropped by France. However, Cantona would come to prominence in England, first with Leeds in a league-winning campaign in 1992 and then for the following 5 years at Manchester United where he dragged the club to two double-winning seasons and four league titles and remains a club legend.
