Biomutant is an above-average game, not a superb game, or one that will define a console generation, but an above-average game.

With that said, its seemingly unique world-building and a high degree of customization will (in time) distinguish it as a game worth going back to. It also helps that it is a single-player game.

One day people will look back at Biomutant and call it a "hidden gem." The seemingly relatively limited physical release the game has so will probably help stabilize it at an above-average price for years to come.
