Bionic Commando is a 1988 side-scrolling action-platformer for the Commodore 64, developed by Software Creations (UK version, published by U.S. Gold and GO!) and Pacific Dataworks International (US version, published by Capcom). Unlike typical platformers, the hero cannot jump; instead, he navigates using a bionic arm—a grappling hook that lets him swing across chasms, climb ledges, fetch collectibles, and attack enemies

The C64 adaptation faithfully mirrors the arcade layout across five challenging levels. While the UK version delivers smoother scrolling and sharper audio, the US version is notorious for its rushed execution. Gameplay emphasizes precision and planning.
