Columbia is burning.

In this episode, Booker and Elizabeth make their way through the crumbling streets of Emporia, once the pride of Columbia — home to its wealthiest and most powerful citizens. Now, it’s a city on the brink. The Vox Populi have swept through like a storm, and what was once a revolution has twisted into a massacre.

The people who once looked down from gilded balconies now run for their lives, desperate to escape the chaos. But for many, it’s too late. The lines between justice and cruelty have blurred, and what was once a fight for freedom has become a blood-soaked vendetta.

Booker and Elizabeth press on through the ruins, their destination clear: Comstock’s home. It’s there the answers lie — the truth behind Elizabeth’s power, her imprisonment, and the Prophet’s obsession. But the path is long and filled with reminders of how far Columbia has fallen.

And then, amidst the destruction, comes a moment that changes everything.

Elizabeth turns to Booker with a request that stops him cold. She’s seen what awaits her if Comstock gets his way — the tower, the lock, the Songbird, the endless cycle. She tells Booker, quietly but firmly, that if capture is their only future, she would rather die free than live as a prisoner again.

It’s a haunting moment — raw, honest, and heartbreaking.

Does Booker have the heart to make such a promise? Could he do it if the time came? And more importantly… can he find another way before it’s too late?
