BioShock Infinite (PS3) Gamechive (Chapter 18: The Good Time Club)
"Chapter 18: The Good Time Club"—Inside the club, Booker's "job interview" consists of three waves of "job candidates"—groups of enemies each with a heavy hitter among them (Fireman, Crow, and Motorized Patriot). Below the club, it's a whole different scene, with prison cells and an underground "secret" police station. It appears that Chen Lin was tortured, and after finding him dead, Elizabeth opens a new "tear"—which is an alternate universe (dimension) of Columbia—where Chen Lin was never killed! After doing so, some noticeable changes are found in Columbia's world, and the pair race back to the Plaza of Zeal.
Booker finds mission-critical items and collectibles in the following order:
- Kinetoscope (24/37): Crime Comes to "Shanty-Town"... (Next to vending machine before entering the club upstars.)
- Gear (27/51) (On table in upstairs room with fireplace.)
- Safe (5/13) (3 lockpicks req.) = 200 Silver Eagles (In upstairs room with fireplace.)
- Infusion (19/30) (On bar counter.)
- Kinetoscope (25/37): The First Lady (Opposite end from stage, near bathrooms and vending machine.)
- Voxophone (40/80): Changing My Tune (On dressing room counter)
I had thought you a fool, dear brother. When you told me that you heard wonderful music trumpeting from holes in the thin air. I began to doubt your mental integrity. But not only have you made your fortune from these doodads, you have lit the path for me as well.
Locked Door downstairs under club (12/42) (1 lockpick req.)
- Code Book (Solve Vox cipher way back in unlocked clock room in Plaza of Zeal.)
Plaza of Zeal Unlocked Room:
- Infusion (20/30) (In wall safe.)
- Voxophone (41/80): A Truer Allegiance (In wall safe.)
I came to Columbia because I believed in God and because I believed in honor. But Slate has shown me this: there is no God in shutting our brothers out from the family of man; and there is no honor in defending those who are strangers to its meaning. Perhaps in Finkton, there is one more deserving of my service...
The Good Time Club (underground):
- Voxophone (42/80): His Design for Cruelty (On chair near shackles.)
To tax the black more than the white, is that not cruel? To forbid the mixing of the races, is that not cruel? To give the vote to the white man, and deny it to the yellow, the black, the red—is that not cruel? Hm. But is it not cruel to banish your children from a perfect garden? Or drown your flock under an ocean of water? Cruelty can be instructive, and what is Columbia, if not the schoolhouse of the Lord?
Recall back in Chapter 11, after Cornelius Slate was defeated, Booker had a choice between either killing or sparing him. Killing him gave him a hero's death (which is what he wanted), and sparing him (he gets arrested by Columbian police), finds him rotting away inside prison cell number 6. Both outcomes are shown here—either Slate is or isn't in the cell, depending on the choice made. He can still be put out of his misery, but he never utters a word.
Locked Door (Cell #8) (13/42) (5 lockpicks req.)
- Gear (28/51) (Inside cell.)
Locked Door (Cell #9) (14/42) (1 lockpick req.)
- Kinetoscope (26/37): Gun-smith Set Free! (Next to vending machine before exiting the club.)
The "Roguish Type" (Used Elizabeth to pick 30 locks.) achievement/trophy was received during this chapter.
