BioShock Walkthrough Part 1: Welcome To Rapture (INTRO)
Welcome back to my channel, dear gamers. Although i wanted to let my subscribers choose the inaugurational PC game on the channel, underwhelming response to the community poll i've posted on March 26th convinced me to take matters into my own hands. With that of the way, i am going to ask you to sit back and enjoy the absolute gaming classic that needs little introduction, BioShock.
Please note that i am not certain what causes white lines at the edges of the screen but i am going to do my best to fix the issue as soon as possible. Slow gameplay is the result of my general unfamiliarity with keyboard controls which i am using to play this game and should correct itself eventually.
About Game: BioShock (also written as Bioshock) is 2007 first-person shooter video game with the elements of role-playing game and survival horror developed by Irrational Games and 2K Australia and published by 2K Games for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, having later been ported onto modern PCs and eighth-generation consoles by Blind Squirrel Games in 2016. Upon release, BioShock was met with universal acclaim, becoming one of the highest-rated games in the history of the medium and even today, is cited as one of the best video games ever made as critics praised its original setting, characters, atmosphere and gameplay. Due to this reception, a sequel, BioShock 2 was released in 2010.
Story of the game is set in the year 1960 and follows a young man named Jack as he flies to England in order to visit his cousins. However, while passing over the Atlantic Ocean, Jack's flight crashes. Having somehow managed to survive the crash unharmed, Jack swims to the nearby lighthouse in order to look for help. Once inside, the doors leading back out close, forcing Jack forward until he finds a batysphere. Upon boarding it, Jack is taken to Rapture, a sprawling underwater city built in Art Deco style and created by an mysterious man named Andrew Ryan who apparently built Rapture as an objectivist safe haven where "artist would not fear the censor, scientist wouldn't be bound by petty morality and great wouldn't be constrained by small". As the batysphere transports him into Rapture's welcome center, Jack quickly realizes that something is awry as he witnesses a man being brutally killed by what appears to be an insane woman capable of rapid movement. Afterwards, Jack is contacted by a man who introduces himself as "Atlas", urging Jack to use a shortwave radio to stay in contact with him as he guides him out of the welcome center. As he makes his way through the area, Jack learns that Rapture is in state of terminal decline as most of its population has been horribly deformed and driven insane by the overuse of ADAM, a mysterious mutagenic drug that can alter human DNA in seemingly impossible ways, transforming them into the so-called "Splicers" with large sections of the city being locked down and destroyed due to the lack of maintenance. Eventually, Jack discovers that ADAM is still a precious commodity in Rapture as remaining Splicers are fighting to acquire it from its gatherers, physically and mentally altered little girls known as "Little Sisters" who are protected by hulking humanoid creatures clad in antique diving gear known as "Big Daddies". Afterwards, Atlas asks Jack to head to the section of Rapture known as Neptune's Bounty in order to find his family who have apparently been separated from him, a mission made significantly harder by the direct passageway into the district being locked down, forcing Jack to take a detour through Medical Pavillion. En route to Medical Pavillion, Jack is confronted by Andrew Ryan himself via large television screen as he believes that Jack is in fact either CIA or KGB agent who entered Rapture on purpose rather than a victim of circumstances, revealing that he is still in control over both Rapture's lockdown mechanisms and even Splicers...
