Gameplay of my first experience with Bit.Trip Runner 2!
Moving through the Mounting Sadds!

This is one interesting game; it's silly, it has charm, it has catchy music, and the narrator is voiced by Charles Martinet (Mario's voice actor). Thanks to good game design, this game teaches you how to play "on the fly" as you run through levels. It starts off very easy with no challenge and ends at mildly frustrating. The best part of the game is that you don't exactly feel punished when you die: there is no game over screen, there is no fade to black upon death and it doesn't kick you back to the stage select screen. You just rewind back to the beginning of the stage, or checkpoint, and you just try again immediately. This keeps you playing and considering that the stage is always the same, you become adamant on beating the level. Its genius! My only gripe with the game is that after hearing the first areas music, I got excited to hear the rest of the games soundtrack; expecting it to ramp up considerably as the difficulty went up as well. This doesn't exactly happen as the first track is actually just remixed throughout each world, fitting to the theme of the world. Oh well =\
