This is a Bitwig tutorial where I show you how to make synthwave music mixed with some modern electro sounds. Update on a track we started in the synthwave episode 1. We talk about the process of creating the track, Shields Up. I explain how I produced the track from a simple sketch to a full-fledged electro arrangement.

We talk about the drums, bass layers, the lead synths, vocal chops, vocal processing and arrangement. To sum it up, we talk about how to make a drop hit harder. ;)

The song, Shields Up, is a track inspired by the retro shoot em up (shmup) games from the 80s. R-type was one of my favourite games from the era and so this is definitely an R-type tribute.
