This is my sixth Black Sabbath video, my fourth with the original lineup, and my second one off the Master Of Reality album. The first one I did off that album was
"Embryo/Children Of The Grave" back in March 2017. For me the first three albums were the band's best, although the fifth album, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, hugely popular, also had merit (1973). For some reason I missed "Vol. 4" (1972) their fourth LP ... I can't recall much promotion for that one by area radio stations for some reason. Master Of Reality, like the two before it, was great to get drunk or high to (or both). I used to love to play "Into The Void" on guitar as well as "Echoes" by Pink Floyd. Tony Iommi and David Gilmour were among my favorite lead guitarists of the period.

The song can be broken up into two parts: a Latin-flavored introduction and then the main riff and Ozzie vocal that carry on to the end (including a solo by Iommi). My video treats the intro differently from the main theme as well with a Latin-style dance sequence (performed by actress Joi Lansing) followed by alternating scenes from The Black Hole (1979) and Black Sabbath performing the song live (which I have synchronized to the recording). One will recognize one of the actors in the space crew, the now sadly late Robert Forster, who also appeared in Twin Peaks: The Return (2017) as Sheriff Frank Truman. Also starring Joseph Bottoms, Yvette Mimieux, and Maximilian Schell.
