Blender Tutorial - Rigging An Octopus Part 01 (Weights and Inverse Kinematics)

In this blender tutorial number thirteen of the Lost in the Sea series, we start the process of animating the octopus so we can import it to Unity. We create an adequate armature, use automatic weight groups, refine the weight paint, create the Inverse Kinematics and use Location Constraints to move the bones only in safe areas.

In the second part we create the rig for the facial expressions with shape keys controlled with drivers, so we can create some animations to play with in Unity.

This series of tutorials is about the creation of a low poly scenario that I created for a game, the scenario is called Lost In The Sea.
And I'm going to use it to explain you what you need to create a low poly scenario, like world settings, light, geometry, materials, etc.
This tutorials will teach you how to create a scenario in Blender, ready for videogames, and bring it to life.

Enjoy and fill free to ask any questions you may have, i'll answer quickly. And don't forget to like and subscribe. Thank you!
