Blender Won't Render my video edit correct, Bug? But I found a work around

blender isn't rendering correct

I cut with the k from my strips
delete or move the cut section out of the way
and drag the piece closer to make it 1 clip with or with out metadata
What I'm playing through the preview looks perfect then I render it with blender & those cut pieces are still coming through.
And with parts I cut out entirely

I've done searches but nothing to explain this exactly
