Blinks Board Game System — Initial Review & Giveaway!
162We take a look at the Blinks game system by Move38, a smart tabletop RGB gaming module that uses lights and interconnecting hexagons. Through these lights and magnets, blinks will constantly talk to teach other, as players move them around and press the button found on the top of each. Each Blinks has its very own game, but it's also capable of teaching all the other blinks to play that game! As one gets more blinks, older games get better and better by virtue of expanding previous titles.
While not really a conventional board game, this game system has all sorts of games, from real-time, shuffleboard dexterity styled, to puzzles. The LED lights can act as timers, spinners, or even coins in games ranging from being stuck on a post-apocalyptic planet (Mortals), to gathering space ore (Astro). More games on their own blinks are constantly in development, so this system will see tons of cool applications in the future. In its current form, we couldn't be more reminded of Virtual Reality's potential for gaming.
