Reacting to Our First Video Review - Dominion
A year and a half ago we reviewed Dominion, our very first Shelfside Review! We've come a long way since then, so it's really interesting going back and seeing just how far we've come when it comes to analyzing board games and our favorite tabletop hobby. Dominion as a deck builder is still around nowadays, and our thoughts on the game haven't actually changed that much, they've only been built upon and elaborated, so expect an updated version of this review to be published soon!
Aside from the rare mention of drafting mechanics, gameplay, and components, our reaction is mostly surrounding the actual process behind the scenes of making one of our reviews. As the creators, it's hard to go back and watch old videos without thinking about what the production process was like, instead of paying attention to the actual substance of the video lol.
It definitely feels like we've come a long long way as a board game youtube channel when we compare our old reviews to our latest ones! After running the gauntlet of rolling dice, pushing record buttons, unboxing new shrink wrap, setting up lights, shuffling cards, and editing clips a million times, we've come to learn a lot about producing better content for you all, and we hope to continue being able to do so well into the future!
