Feeling inspired to make a new set of videos today - especially considering how much I've gotten stuck playing Subnautica recently.. Here's a new set.

This is Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain

I remember once as a kid when I went to rent a game with my father, that I had the choice of several good games to rent, but I also saw this game in the shelf and it fascinated me - Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. A game I had heard very little of, and at most I've heard about it, was that it was like Diablo only darker. In the end, the other games won out but sometimes, I wonder if life would had taken a different turn for me if I had rented Blood Omen instead?

Blood Omen tells the story of the noble Kain who is assassinated by thugs on orders from someone unknown. The Necromancer Mortanius intercepts his soul before it goes to hell ( or well, the spiritual plane ), giving him the choice to fade into nothingness or take revenge on his assassins. Kain chooses the latter so Mortanius resurrects him as a Vampire.

Thus, the hunt for his assassins began.

Being like a 20 year old game means that you likely already know the story by now and if you don't, you'll likely watch one of those shitty " Everything you need to know! " videos that infects YouTube like a plague. However, if you haven't.. I won't spoil it for you.

I will just say that the story is deeper and more convuluted than one would expect.

There's one monumental thing I will say though;
Towards the later half of the game, Kain finds a blade called Soul Reaver.
