Metroid Prime [ Gamecube ] - ( Fusion Suit ) Intro & Gameplay
Feeling inspired to make a new set of videos today - especially considering how much I've gotten stuck playing Subnautica recently.. Here's a new set.
This is Metroid Prime.
When Metroid Prime was announced, I was incredibly skeptical to it, but hopeful still. Excited. When I played Metroid Fusion, I was very very happy with it. When I later came home to a friend who happen to have Metroid Prime and a gamecube, so I could play it... I hated it. Or hate hate, the game was quite litterary putting me to sleep. The graphics was so awful and the gameplay was really dull that I found it extremely hard to be invested into it at all.
And then, the elevator segment where you lose all your equipment.. My reaction was basically " Oh, so her suit is made of paper. Who knew? "
When Metroid Prime 3 came out for Wii, I gave it a try and I enjoyed it quite a lot. I still couldn't and I still can't see Prime as canon with the original trilogy - NO MATTER WHAT CONVULUTED WAY THEY TRY TO EXPLAIN IT ( Looking at you, Samus Returns ). I never completed Prime 3 but I played it for about an hour or so and eventually the controls just gnawed on me really. I have also played a bit of Hunters on Emulator because fuck playing that on actual hardware. Award for most ackward control scheme ever. While playing it on computer makes it a bit better, it's still finger-cramp inducing.
But after having watched The Geek Critique's videos about the Metroid series, he made me want to play the Prime series, especially Prime 2: Echoes and especially since you can set the controls like an FPS on computer. But neither GC nor Wii emulates that well on my computer ( as you can see in this video ) so that'll be a later time.
