🔴Bloom/glow - The very easy way [GameMaker | Vfx]
This visual effects video tutorial shows you how to create a glow/bloom effect in GameMaker with a few mouse clicks.
The idea is quite easy. You see that most games have this beautiful slight glow and want to have that in your game aswell. That you can have with a few mouse clicks if you create on top a vfx layer and select glow. Just play around with the numbers until you get the desired result. That's it!
Trivia: Bloom is a post processing method/technique where you copy the final rendered image, intensify/select only a threshold of "lighter" pixels and radially blurr them on the copied image. Then overlay the original and the bloomed one. There is also HDR (High dynamic rendering) where you take the pixels and create a contrast between then to make the resulting image crisper (not a sharpener!). HDR is more gpu heavy then bloom but makes the outcome worth most of the time in combination with bloom.
Tldr:
1. Use fx layer and select glow
