Bloons TD 6 - Brickell's Cylindrical Thinking
So this is accomplished. Brickell actually compliments Super Monkey Fan Club well enough, but GOODNESS she acts like a Glass Cannon about it. I do have a few things to note.
First, Brickell can actually defeat Round 28 without additional Lead protection or using her activation, although depending on your tower positioning, there may be some RNG factor involved, but Round 30 manages to force Brickell to use her activation or an additional tower regardless. It all comes back to the spacing: Round 28's Leads use a buddy system, but are still close enough together that two of them can be caught by each explosion of Brickell's mines. Round 30's Leads, however, are too far apart for this, and will slip past Brickell's mines as a result. This doesn't make Round 30 a massive threat all of a sudden because Lead protection will likely tear down the Leads anyway, but it IS something to consider in early rounds.
By the way, Brickell gets Camo detection before Camos really become more than an obnoxious time sink, and it lets her actually hammer the 50s Camo waves, so I don't need to give Camo to the Triple Darts/SMFC. Believe me, that will prove useful later. In the meantime, I can have SMFC take care of the non-Camo waves that issue the biggest threats.
Ooh, speaking of, Round 63. I want BOTH Naval Tactics and SMFC ready at the start, especially SMFC. Round 63 is more known for the 3 Ceramic clusters, but it's also threatening because of one more subtle issue: buddy system Lead flooding. I activate SMFC first because Brickell can't keep the Leads under control, so SMFC is going to be weakened if I do it later. I use Naval Tactics for the second Ceramic cluster so as to also poke damage those pesky Leads and save up on the mines that I really need for the final Ceramic cluster. Gosh, who'd have thought that Round 63 would use Leads to be problematic?
Of course, the star attraction here is the post-80s Rounds. I start setting up my Mega Mines on Round 78 because while Mega Mine does blow off an entire layer from a blimp with less HP than a Fortified ZOMG, the lack of carry over layer damage can cause Mega Mine to blow up in your face when it hits a bunch of BFBs and leave you dealing with a ridiculous MOAB flood. The trick to Round 82 particularly is to make sure you get the one-two punch on the entire cluster by having one mine blow off BFB layers and then another blow off the MOAB layers. A flood of Super Ceramics is scary but not intolerable. A flood of MOABs must not be allowed to be unchecked.
Of course, Round 84 is STILL an issue because of the BFB bloat, and there's no way to set up the one-two punch that I just mentioned because Round 83 has a MOAB flood halfway through to make sure the second Mega Mine wouldn't be ready in time because the first Mega Mine already has to wait until the last of those MOABs gets past the dropoff point with NO way to destroy those MOABs before they reach the downstream part of the river, and the firepower is simply lacking in destroying Round 84.
However, this entire mess gets salvaged by one important detail: upgrading the Super Monkey Fan Club to Plasma Monkey Fan Club doesn't reset the cooldown timer.
See, Bloons Tower Defense 6 has a mechanic where when you get an upgrade that provides an activation ability, the ability starts off on a cooldown timer. This is to stop players from selling and repurchasing the tower to spam the activation, an exploit that was was absolutely milked on Bloons TD Battles. Nevertheless, it would make sense to not have the mechanic apply for a base activation ability in a transition from Tier 4 to Tier 5. Here, I can use the Mega Mine to destroy enough of the MOABs to not only delay the flood but also make sure I hit the much needed $54K mark, and once I do that, PMFC is up and running and THEN I invoke the activation. You would be surprised what one seemingly innocuous detail can allow for, but when it allows for cleanup to be FAR more manageable, you get this video being able to happen at all.
What a puzzle Round 84 was here.
