Cutesy little adventure-platformer game for the NEO GEO cabinet. As a member of a tiny insect-humanoid race of the land Raguy (also the game's alternate title), you, as "Blue", must defeat the evil Daruma Tribe intent on polluting your land. Through several levels in several lands (of which you can often choose where to go next), you use your weapons to destroy your enemies-- OR you can jump on them and make them fly in whichever direction you're facing when you jump again. You may also pick up defeated enemies and throw them at other enemies! Your main weapon (until you pick up a different weapon) is a LEAF. Yup, you're kind of a weenie little ecological-minded wuss. :) This game, due to its cutesy nature, seems like it might be really easy.. that is NOT the case! Several areas will test your jumping abilities and your smarts/resourcefulness as well. There is a button that allows you to SHRINK so you can enter certain areas otherwise inaccessable to Blue. There are many secrets in this game-- some of which aren't obvious (and are annoyingly important later in the game), and many shops/inns where you can buy some useful items or talk to various characters. One thing I really like about this game is there are many options you can take-- either different stages you can choose or different ways to talk to characters, yielding different paths to take. You can choose to not fight some bosses, and then your game might end due to your cowardice! Usually though, it seems you will get another chance. At the end of each level you jump onto a tree with bells (much like the flagpole at the end of Super Mario Bros) and get a bonus for how high you landed on it. There are multiple endings you can achieve, good and bad-- one bad ending will occur if you missed a certain item that prevents curses (the 2nd to last boss will curse you)-- it's a princess in the 3rd part of Mechanical City that gives it to you (you must find the torch from earlier in the game from a guy you have to fight). Blue's Journey is a cute, cute game with lots of secrets and special things to find-- but it's a little too deep for its own good. Suggested by YouTube user Charlie Cat.
