BMW M3 (E30) #7 DTM 1992 - Johnny Cecotto | Assetto Corsa | Cockpit View
The Brno track was an expensive outing for the 1992 DTM field.
In race 1, after only three laps the Mercedes part of the field already was halved. So Cecotto and Ravaglia had an easy lead with only Lohr who followed - but another strong showing of her ended in gravel too after a bump from Soper “who only tried to defend against the following Pirro”.
The incident-packed race 1 was followed by a similar race 2; Pirro spun in the first lap probably due to transmission trouble, and slowly headed for the pits - but he collided with the leading Schneider, “my mistake” according to Pirro. He got a fine, while Soper got only a warning for collision with van Ommen - his second Mercedes victim of the weekend.
Johnny Cecotto dominated race 1 and race 2 in Brno, and Rosberg at least saved a result for Mercedes in race 2, finishing second behind Cecotto. Ravaglia finished third after leading part of the race, but then had to surrender to Cecotto due to “tire problems”.
