This is a Review of the BMW M3 (F80) Manual and all the features and packages that were available when this car was last offered in 2018. We discuss what it's like in 2019 prior to the next generation M3 launch. I also go into detail on the specific drive mode options available and how I prefer to set this car up in comparison to Chris Harris.

I will be doing more videos on how this car fairs as a used car in 2019 as well as a quick buyers guide for those interested.

Walking around the outside the looks haven’t changed for the m3 since 2014. Ill be honest and say I was not a fan of the f80 m3 when it first launched. Its not important why cause looks are subjective but the point I (what didn’t I like about it). That the looks did grow on me as I began to appreciate the proportions of 4 door sedans and the unique flaires and looks this car has. Starting off with the front you’ll notice the more aggressive front bumper and the iconic power bulge in the hood. This car; however, doesn’t have the main two packages you can get (the competition package and the executive package). Since it does not have it, let me quickly explain what those two packages consist of. The competition package includes a +19hp and a claimed 0.1 s reduction in 0-60 time. i don think that would matter though since this car is a manual and there would already be a couple millisecond variation in times when launching a manual car. The competition package also includes an M active diff, more aggressive steering ration, badging, and an m stripe on the seatbelt. In terms of the executive package, all that offers is cameras, (think added weight that you do not need) fully adaptive LEDs (think even more weight, and a heads up display. I haven’t personally used the heads up display, but I have researched it and peoples main concern with it is the lack of contrast in the color grading. Outside of these packages, you an completely destroy this car with the addition of a sunroof (please don’t do it). If you are obsessed with the sun, just skip the m3 all together and get the m4 convertible.
Ok so the wheel package on this car looks amazing, the blue brake calipers and the 19” rims with the black accents look great. The carbon ceramics look cool, but unless you are tracking the car, it is not worth the extra 8k and the brake squeal that will come with it. Continuing down the side, you have the side vent which is functional as well as the more aggressive fender flares around the rear tires.
Going around the back, we have the LED tail lights and quad tip chrome exhaust and we will hear how it sounds in the cold start.
Stepping inside, we notice this car has the standard leather and cloth seat. Bmw calls it “Anthracite Cloth Black Leather with carbonstructure pattern” but it is leather side bolsters with cloth seat inserts. Even though they are the “base” seats, the look and feel really good. Sure it doesn’t feel as supple as the marino leather, or look as flashy as the bmw individual options, but they’ll look clean and feel good throughout your use of the car. In terms of tech, the m3 is pretty much a fully loaded 3 series as it has the widescreen idrive system which includes navigation, audio, car setting controls. It looks great and really intuitive to use. In part 3 I go into details of how to inspect a car using idrive so if you want to check that out click on the top right-hand corner for that video. Other than that, the leather-wrapped steering wheel feels great in the hands and has the m color stitching around the inner surface.
Ok lets get into the technical specification. This car is powered by the s55 (engine code) for the new inline 6 cylinder twin turbo engine pushing out 425hp and 406lp ft of torque and we will get a taste of what that’s like on the drive. In this example, it is mated to the 6 speed manual transmission.
