Behold! The Foton! You may have seen this floating pink and yellow disk before. In fact, they will swarm you in numbers if you run out of time before you get to an Exit Door in an extended effort to kill you. It's still possible to kill them all before they do that, though, but it's very difficult.
Fotons, like Floatsams and Amebans, can pass through walls, but they are also move much faster than both of those types of monsters! So on this stage, when you see that only Foton homing in on you, you better respond accordingly. They also yield the highest amount of points of any enemies in a single giving.
