Boost Your 5G Internet Speed With an Outdoor External Antenna Speed Test With SMA Modified ZTE MC888
In this video I will be doing a speed test comparing a ZTE MC888 5G cellular internet router with a modified ZTE MC888. The modified ZTE MC888 is using the Mini 5G external antenna, which is designed to go outdoors.
The modified ZTE MC888 is using the Router-Mods part modification. This modification adds two SMA ports to replace the 5G signal routing that would usually route to the built in TS9 ports on the router when using an external 5G antenna.
Router-Mods also provide modification services for many different 4G and 5G internet routers. They also supply many different 4G and 5G antennas, as well as WiFi antennas and they also supply installation services among their many other services.

Be aware that once you have any of these modifications applied to your router, that you will no longer be able to use the router's internal antennas. You will have to use external antennas once any of these SMA port modifications are applied to your router.

Without Modifications selected – Includes a new, unused unlocked router that will be unmodified.
With Modifications selected – Includes a new, unused unlocked router that will be modified to your selected modifications.
Send your router – Requires you to send us your router for modification.
WIFI Modification – Converts the internal WIFI antennas for external antenna use providing you with 2x SMA WIFI antenna ports.
Full Mod – (5G Router) Provides 4x 4G SMA ports and 4x 5G N77/N78/N79 SMA Ports. NOTE: Q4 2022 Models only have 3x 5G ports not 4 SMA Ports.
Part Mod – (5G router)- Part Modification – provides 2x 5G N77/N78/N79 SMA Ports.
NOTE: Only purchase the Part Mod service if you have either:
(5G Router only) Damaged the factory external antenna ports while previously receiving 5G signal with an external antenna attached prior to damaging the ports.
(5G Router only) Does not have factory external antenna ports but are receiving 5G signal via internal antennas and wish to improve the 5G signal.
If either of the above, do not apply to you then please purchase the full modification.
Please Note – All modifications (4G/5G & WIFI) removes and replaces all internal antennas for SMA external antenna ports. The internal antennas will no longer function. The router will be reliant on the new SMA ports for connectivity.
