Elgato 4K X is TOTALLY DEAD on Apple Silicon Mac Computers After macOS Sonoma 14.5 Update
23After the macOS Sonoma 14.5 update the Elgato 4K X is now completely broken and does not work at all with OBS Studio on Apple Silicon Mac computers. The 4K X is not even seen by Elgato's own Capture Device Utility software. However, the Mac itself does know that the Elgato 4K X is attached to it and it does register it as being connected to on one of its USB busses.
Now to be clear, the 4K X isn't physically broken but it may as well be as it is completely electronicially dead to the Mac and can not be used for video capturing or gameplay capture. In other words, at the moment, the Elgato 4K X is completely unusable on Apple Silicon Mac computers.
I will be sure to make a video and keep you up to date as and when, if, this situation changes.
