How to Activate and Enable Developer Mode on an iPhone or iPad Using a Mac and Xcode NO JAILBREAK
How to activate and turn on Developer Mode on an iPhone or iPad using a Mac and Xcode NO JAILBREAK and NO SIDELOADING
How to fix if Developer Mode is NOT showing on your iPhone or iPad and then activate it and turn it on so that it is working.
If you are like me then your iPhones and iPads did not have the Developer Mode option available to you in settings. In which case there is no option to switch on Developer Mode. So in this how to guide I show you how to first activate the Developer Mode option on your iPhone or iPad by using a Mac computer and using the Apple Xcode software.
Once you have paired your iPhone or iPad to your Mac and paired them to each other as a "Trusted Device". Then Xcode essentially initiates the Developer Mode option on your iPhone or iPad and you can then simply turn on Developer Mode from a new option that will appear in the settings on your iPhone or iPad.
For this example I am using a MacBook Pro M1 Max, however, you can use any modern Mac computer. I am also using an iPhone SE Gen 3, however, you can use any modern iPhone or iPad. I have also enabled Developer Mode on my M4 iPad Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max using this method.
It's important to know that this way of activating and switching on Developer Mode on your iPhone or iPad is totally legitimate and is indeed how you would do it if you were developing iOS and iPadOS Apps and wanting to test them on your iPhone or iPad.
This method in not a jailbreak and indeed I would not recommend jailbreaking your iPhone or iPad as this may lead to security vulnerabilities on your iPhone or iPad a your Apple account and Apple ID. This is also not a workaround where you install and give permissions to some random certificate that has been randomly downloaded from the internet. Again, doing such things can cause security vulnerabilities.
It is also worth noting that if you plan on officially side loading iOS and iPadOS apps onto your iPhone or iPad you will indeed need Developer Mode activated. Here are some notes about this from Androidauthority:
Did you know iOS has a Developer Mode? This security feature was released in an effort to help developers run code and test their apps on an actual device. It’s also an essential step if you’re trying to sideload apps using the AltStore. If you can’t figure out how to do this, today we’ll show you how to enable Developer Mode on an iPhone or iPad.
Warning: iOS Developer Mode is meant for developers, and it is not recommended for regular users. Be sure to do your research and know what you’re getting into before going through with this. We’re not responsible if anything happens to your device.
