Borderlands 2 got released for Linux today. The port has been done by Aspyr, the company responsible for the Linux port of Civilization 5. In this video I demonstrate that everything works well and also that I'm still not very good at it.

If you want to support Linux gaming but have already bought the game then install on Linux through Steam and then buy some DLC packs. They're on sale right now, as is the Game of the Year edition of BL2.

The good news continues: it has been announced that the Linux version of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be released concurrently with the Windows version. I played it at EGX recently and will definitely be getting it at some point (may have to wait for a sale, though).
