Boss: Gulp (Gulp's Overlook) | Spyro Reignited Trilogy 100% Walkthrough "57/107" (No Commentary)
In this part, we take on the Boss of Autumn Plains, Gulp, and acquire both of his Skill Points.
Gulp's Battle has two Skill Points, one for him and one for Ripto. The Skill Point belonging to Gulp is acquired by defeating him with a Perfect, a.k.a. no damage. Gulp is arguably the hardest of the three bosses in the game as his attacks can be spammed and he can lead his shots to where you will be going, rather than where you were. When the battle starts, Gulp will either chase after you, or blast you with his cannons. If he chases after you, you'll have to charge away from him and jump at the last moment to dodge him. If he fires his cannons at you, you'll have to turn and move in the opposite direction to dodge the blasts as he leads the target and will fire in the direction you're heading. During the battle, pterodactyl's will drop eggs in the battlefield which will hatch into one of four objects. The first are Bombs, which you can flame towards Crush to harm him. They will bounce off his body, and blow up after a set time, harming him if he's close enough. These are the hardest weapons to use against him, and if he eats a bomb, he will cause a shockwave of multiple large fireballs that you'll have to slip between. The second item from eggs are Explosive Barrels. These can be charged into to fling them at Gulp and blow him up on contact. If Gulp swallows one, he will create a shockwave you must jump over. The third item from eggs are Rockets. Rockets are the best item to use to hit Gulp as you can aim them easily, and even multi hit Gulp with them if you're quick enough. To do so, keep one in your mouth and stand next to another, then fire the first, and quickly gather the second before Gulp jumps and destroys all items. So basically you get two shots quickly and can fire them faster and more accurately than the other items. Lastly, the fourth item dropped is either a Sheep or Chicken (I dont remember) which is used for healing if you get hurt. Do note that Gulp can also eat these and he WILL heal himself as well. Once Gulp gets low on health, he will fire more cannon shots each time he attempts to use his cannon. He can fire a maximum of six, making his Skill Point of a Perfect, the hardest in the Trilogy in my opinion, as things get hectic really fast and you can accidentally walk into a blast's explosion while dodging another's. The second Skill Point, which belongs to Ripto, is acquired by hitting him during your fight with Gulp. This can easily be done by getting a hold of a Rocket, then aim at him and fire. Mush easier than Gulp's for sure. Note: You do NOT have to get both Skill Points at the same time. If you hit Ripto and get his, then take damage from Gulp, you will keep Ripto's and can attempt Gulp's as many times as necessary without losing Ripto's.
