Bossconstructor - A Spaceship Building Top Down Shooter - Indie Game Spotlight
BossConstructor is a game about building, tweaking and flying your own spaceship!

Building your ship
The core feature of the game is the ship editor which allows you to freely assemble your own ship from a number of different modules. The way you build your ship has a physically plausible and strong influence on how it behaves and what you can do with it. Finding the right balance and designing a good ship is a challenging yet rewarding task.
Flying your ship
The game will include about 25 missions which will test both your design and piloting skills. The missions will include combat and survival missions as well as mining and trade missions. Completing missions will unlock further ship modules and missions. Furthermore you can compete with other players via online score boards.
Map editor
The in-game map editor will allow you to design your own missions and share them with your friends.
Artificial Intelligence
A major component of the game is the artificial intelligence (AI) of your computer-controlled enemies and allies which is based on evolutionary algorithms. If you are interested in this, the game will allow you to play with and watch AI-generated ships fight each other and evolve.
Availability and Current state
The game is currently in the alpha stage. The base game mechanics as well as the ship editor are already functional but a lot of stuff is still in development. Given that the Steam Greenlight campaign is successful, I intend to launch the game via Steam Early Access in order to give you the possibility to get your hands on the game as fast as possible. Afterwards I intend to publish monthly updates until the game is done. The game is available for Windows, Linux and MacOS.
Early Access expected in 2014
