I've been a huge fan of Mobile Suit Gundam (MSG) ever since I watched the first season in 1979, and I've been waiting for something like this for over 30 years. That's a damn shame, because I'm a sucker for the Gundam franchise. Gundam Breaker: Ultimate Revolution is the first true Gundam game released on the PS4 and PS Vita, and it's definitely worth a try. It has its share of issues (most of which stem from its reliance on controls), but for me it was well worth the wait.
The game follows a new generation of Mobile Suits, who've gone through a lot in their history and are now on the path to becoming "Gundam Evolved". You play as one of these new Gundams as they battle their way through a variety of missions, some of which will require you to go to an old friend and ally in order to get help. These characters range from the main heroes to a couple of supporting characters, but there are plenty of others that you'll come across. They all have unique personalities, which help make the game more of a true co-op experience.
As you progress through the story, you'll get to see the Gundam that you're controlling grow and evolve, and that's what really makes it stand out in this series. I can see a lot of other Gundams making it into the hands of fans, but that is what makes Gundam SEED so unique. You will never get a feeling that you can play a Gundam game and not feel the same way that you do with these Gundams. That being said, each of the Gundams are Gundams and are destroyed or you get a special prize!
