Bravely Default II - 127 - Chapter 3-28 - Boss: Domenic the Oracle (Hard)
*Read description / SPOILERS OF FUTURE EVENTS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED*
Seth (Shieldmaster) - Lv. 34
Gloria (Bard) - Lv. 34
Elvis (Dragoon) - Lv. 34
Adelle (Thief) - Lv. 34
The group confronts Domenic and his true intentions.
Key Notes:
- Adelle can now use Special moves, completing the team's lineup of Special moves.
Boss: Domenic - HP: 70,920 / Weakness: Dark, Knives, Staves / Family: Humanoid
Counters: Physical Attacks (uses Stop) / "Artistry" Abilities (uses Triplara)
Half Damage: Fire
- Domenic uses the Oracle skills to fight:
1) Stop, well, stops the target. Only time can heal the ailment. If you want to have protection against this, three Sands of Time can be gotten at this point: one from doing Anihal's side quest at Savalon, a second one found in a treasure chest west of Rimedhal's region's border, and a third one in the Hall of High Hollies dungeon.
2) Haste makes him act faster.
3) Triplara strikes a target with Fira, Thundara, or Blizzara in three strikes. The same spell may be cast again or twice, or sometimes none at all.
4) Reflect casts a reflective barrier that reflects spells. Do not have healing spells bouncing off from your side.
5) When he's on the ropes, he'll call upon the Lord of Dragons...by totally cheating using Bomb Arms to dish around 2000 HP of damage when un-Defaulted.
6) He will also start using Triplaga, which uses -ga tier spells.
- Since he's a mage, boost your Mag. Def and weaken his Mag. Atk.
- You can make mincemeat out of him using the Thief's Godspeed Strike. If not, knives generally do well against him.
Oracle
- This job is the Time Mage job by any other name, as it relies on using time buffs and debuffs to help turns come faster or slower.
- Its only mean of attacking is through use Triple spells (not to be confused with the Gambler's Triples with an "s") to strike a target randomly with fire, ice, and/or lightning spells.
- Notably, it can grant or inflict elemental weaknesses as buffs on the party or debuffs on the enemy, opening possibilities in exploiting weaknesses whenever you want.
- Its first speciality "In One's Element" lets it inflict 40% more damage when hitting elemental weaknesses while reducing elemental costs by 40%. That Black Mage sub-job is looking juicy.
- Despite looking like a mage job, its best mastery on weapons only come up to rank B for spears, bows, and shields, with the rest being ranked at C.
- It can't serve that well as an offensive job by itself, and its offensive spells may be too random and useless at times when the wrong elemental spells end up aiding the enemy.
Watch, enjoy, and comment, everyone.
