Challenging the bosses at Halls of Tribulation V, located northeast of Rimedhal. Named after the fact they all are BAT**** crazy!
Key Notes:
- My runs against all of these bosses are mirror matches (unless they are short one member). YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO IT THE WAY I DO IT. I only do it just for fun.
General Halls of Tribulation info:
- The previous Asterisk bearers are paired up in special teams, regardless if some of them are dead or alive.
- They all have much better moves than the last time you fought them.
- More often than not, they have their own exclusive moves that you can't even learn from the expanded skills. So, yes, they are kind of cheating.
- They all have exclusive battle intro lines. However, they do not have more special dialogue and do not comment on one of their members falling.
- They all drop very exclusive weapons that carry ALL the passive skills of their respective former jobs. However, these are rare drops (the Gambler's Rare Talent will only yield you Giant JP Orbs, so unequip it to have more chances to get the weapons). Likewise, they have items to steal.
- And because of the above, they can be refought any time after getting beaten.
Bosses:
Prince Castor the Berserker - HP: 179,876 / Weakness: Lightning, Bows / Family: Humanoid
Absorbs: Water
Halves: Axes
Folie the Pictomancer - HP: 143,174 / Weakness: Water, Knives / Family: Humanoid
Absorbs: Light & Dark
Vigintio the Arcanist - HP: 118,502 / Weakness: Light, Spears / Family: Undead
Absorbs: Dark
- Castor acts as the heavy muscle of the team, Vigintio goes crazy with spells that can heal him and Folie with the occasional Death spell thrown your way, and Folie acts as the team's stat nullifier to get rid of one of her side's debuffs and/or your side's buffs while also being able to inflict Death and Daub...which if successful allow her to act again due to somehow having the Phantom's Rewarding Results in her skillset (told you these bosses are cheaters).
- This team is an absolute nightmare because Castor simply goes insane with the Berserker's full set of passive abilities and overall high Phy. Atk (and Pierce Default). And if he won't clean up shop, Vigintio will do so, or backwards. Then there is Folie and her cheating with Rewarding Results, who can make sure your stacked debuffs on either of the guys go bye-bye with Deface... Oh, and the fact both Vigintio and Folie can inflict Death.
- So here's what you do: exploit either the Freelancer's Late Bloomer or the Beastmaster's Creature Comforts to boosts your stats so high that this battle becomes a hell lot more manageable. And to render Folie useless, equip Self-Portraits (prevent Daub) and Circlets (prevent Death) so she never gets to act again through Rewarding Results.
- Assuming you do the above, you must take down either Castor or Vigintio first, then the second choice between both of them, and finally Folie. Why her at the end when she's rendered nearly useless anyway? You just don't want to deal with the other two while you wail at her.
Second Speciality Talk
- The Berserker's Rage and Reason lets it have control of its actions half of the time while it's got Berserk. It's meant to increase the potency of its physical prowess...just don't forget the other half making it an uncontrollable beast and the fact its Phy. Def is reduced by 30%.
- The Pictomancer's Extra Coat simply extends status effects by an extra turn. It may be pretty beneficial for when you want to use those skills that exploit ailments.
- The Arcanist's Wild Wizardry makes all spells 20% stronger and may reduce targets' MP...but the drawback is that the spells may end up hitting EVERYONE on the field, making it a rather dangerous and risky job to use.
Watch, enjoy, and comment, everyone.
