Bravely Default II - 211 - Chapter 7-3 - Halls of Tribulation III - Boss: The Sibling Team (Hard)

Gloria (Salve-Maker) - Lv. 62
Elvis (Vanguard) - Lv. 62
Adelle (Shieldmaster) - Lv. 62
Challenging the bosses at Halls of Tribulation III, located northeast of Savalon, whom I named after the fact they all are siblings (albeit Glenn is alone without his brother).
Key Notes:
- This run was originally done prior finishing Chapter 6, though I put it under Chapter 7 just to avoid spoilers.
- My runs against all of these bosses are mirror matches (unless they are short one member). YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO IT THE WAY I DO IT. I only do it just for fun.
General Halls of Tribulation info:
- The previous Asterisk bearers are paired up in special teams, regardless if some of them are dead or alive.
- They all have much better moves than the last time you fought them.
- More often than not, they have their own exclusive moves that you can't even learn from the expanded skills. So, yes, they are kind of cheating.
- They all have exclusive battle intro lines. However, they do not have more special dialogue and do not comment on one of their members falling.
- They all drop very exclusive weapons that carry ALL the passive skills of their respective former jobs. However, these are rare drops (the Gambler's Rare Talent will only yield you Giant JP Orbs, so unequip it to have more chances to get the weapons). Likewise, they have items to steal.
- And because of the above, they can be refought any time after getting beaten.
Bosses:
Galahad the Shieldmaster - HP: 115,590 / Weakness: Light, Staves / Family: Humanoid
Gladys the Swordmaster - HP: 123,255 / Weakness: Earth, Bows / Family: Humanoid
THE OGRE KING! (Dream!Glenn the Salve-Maker) - HP: 87,516 / Weakness: Lightning, Spears / Family: Humanoid(?)
- In general, Galahad gives protection to his side, Gladys is the offensive unit, and Glenn is a mixture of offense and recovery.
- Counter-Savvy can render Gladys' better counters useless.
- It should be said that this group amasses BP really fast that, when Glenn has a full BP count, he heals the siblings 5,000 HP and feeds them with Double BP Tonic each (without the BP drawback on himself, of course).
- Okay, let's address the TWO huge issues here: Galahad and the OGRE KING Glenn.
1) Should either Gladys or Galahad fall before Glenn does, Glenn will happily REVIVE THEM AT FULL HEALTH.
2) Should either Gladys or Glenn fall pretty low on HP, Galahad's Protect Ally will force him to be eternally stuck shielding them from harm. What's more, at this point, your party has very little chances of surviving, as this means either of those two will go insane and use their deadliest moves over and over.
- Your game plan should involve taking Glenn down first at ALL costs by delivering a hit so harsh (with the Hellblade's Surpassing Power to be able to break the damage limit) that Galahad won't be able to protect him from. That or a Godspeed Strike that can bypass Galahad's Protect Ally.
- After taking Glenn down, it should be much easier to deal with the two siblings. Dry those tears, though. They're just fakes.
- When at low HP, Galahad will make sure to keep his Mirrored Shield skill up, which reflects all damage IN FULL he takes. Be careful when delivering too much damage that he may transfer over and kill your big attacker.
Second Speciality Talk
- The Shieldmaster's Chivalrous Spirit is generally a good boost of free BP and can free your shield from using the Red Mage's Revenge, although Revenge has way more chances of accumulating full BP.
- The Swordmaster's Double Duty enables all sub-job specialities when equipping the same type of weapon in both hands (at times, you may need the Phantom's Dual Wield). This can free the user from using the singular Sub-Job Speciality passive abilities for more customization.
- The Salve-Maker's Unencumbered very tellingly shoves the user into an extreme supportive role without carrying weapons. It's up to you to decide if this is very good, or you'd rather have its signature weapon (if you get it) pass on all of its passive abilities at no cost.
