Battles against
Land Turtle 0:00
Victoria and Victor (Mock battle) 1:52
Some Legion Grunts 4:47
Einheria 5:44
Profiteur 9:50
Khamer and Khint 12:43
Artemia 15:58
DeRosa 18:28
Rusalka 24:25
First off is the Land Turtle. A real piece of cake, if he either uses Default or Reflective Angle first turn it is Unscathed and over because Items bypass both Default and Reflect. His water weakness does the rest, with eight large items having to be used as I went and stole his items.
Next up is the mock battle with Victor and Victoria. Nothing for it but to steal their stuff.
Afterwards I go for Einheria, but there are a few Grunts on the way for the Artemia Sidequest. Again nothing serious, so I went and got me the Sweeper Bonus to boot. Four low damage items and a few Mugs to push the Impaler, with a few Steals for the remaining turns.
Einheria is the first real challenge, especially as I am still using Black Mages (though she finally pushed them to Job Level 5, where Damage Dispersion is learned). If she uses Crescent Moon, chances are the battle just ends. Luckily, she barely uses it after the first two turns, so with a few Defaults and recovery while she is on negative BP helps. She has no elemental weakness, is faster than most of the player characters, and one-shots to boot. Keeping her HP above 7000 and then finishing her off in one turn is also a lesson to be learned, because her Spirit Barrier will give her another 5000 HP if she can use it. Lucky enough, I even managed to get both her steals in the end, though I would have been fine without them after having to try quite a few times to survive the initial onslaught.
After that I went back to clear up Chapter 1. Profiteur was a real pushover with his low HP, especially now that I have high Speed. As Khint is running again either way, One-Turn is not possible, so I decided to waste one turn for better Item Performance.
Khamer and Khint were not much more of a challenge, so I went ahaed and stole all of their equipment. Two of them with just shortly over 8000 HP meant I had to use a few big items while stealing, though. Also, the first time I used equipment change to have the Thief's Knife deal actual damage. And with this, I get access to the Time Mage, who will grant some great passives later on.
Back to Chapter 2, next up is Artemia. After Einheria, this is a real pushover. She might outspeed someone on rare occasions, but it is not the usual case. She also has little enough HP with a Fire Weakness to boot, making this real quick.
After that, it is time to beat up the boss behind the Bloodrose Legion. DeRosa, much like EInheria, cannot just be beaten in a single turn at this point. He might just waste one or two turns, though, which gives us some time to get things going. He also has another Hermes Sandals as stealable, and though it becomes buyable soon I kind of wanted it, which forced me to reset him quite a bit. Also, despite wearing the Thieves Knife, using Steal is better for this guy because of Revenge. His attacks and especially Fear are just very RNG, as is his Revenge which just might make the game. Also, despite having more AGI than him, his Speed seems higher than my slower characters, which is why I went and played it safe in the very end.
For Rusalka, I bought another 7 Ogre's Club and 4 Lambent Hat's to one-turn this. Not too hard, speed owns this one again and the Steal can be omitted because it is yet again something coming from Norende Gifts.
This concludes Chapter 2, except for the skipped Mephilia. Next up: Chapter 3!
