Breath of Fire #33 - The Cure For Amnesia
28Everyone winds up outside of Tunlan this time, but Nina is nowhere to be seen. If you explored Tunlan extensively your first couple of times here, you may have seen someone that looks like Nina in one of the houses. Head to that house to find out this Nina is...well, a little short on remembering things. We'll need to head to Carmen to do something about this.
If you wish, you can peruse Carmen's weapon shop. When you're done, enter the house just to the north of it. The old man in the back can make a Tonic that will cure amnesia, but he needs four ingredients. Those four ingredients are W.Ant, C.Nut, Root, and a P.Fish.
Now, if you've been following the videos, you should have everything but the P.Fish. If you need a W.Ant, there's one on the floor above.
As for the P.Fish, head back to the castle where Cerl & Alan disappeared at. I ended up editing this part to save the walking time needed to reach the castle, only showing off a small cutscene at the site where the castle once was.
Once you exit to the north, keep following the path until you see a dirt road. Follow it until you reach a broken bridge. Have Ryu fish here to pick up the P.Fish.
Return to Carmen, give the ingredients to the doctor, he'll give you a Tonic. Take it to Nina in Tunlan and she'll remember everyone and rejoin the party.
While this seems like a pointless fetch quest, there's a few perks that Nina's picked up. First and foremost, she's got a new portrait, a new battle sprite (Which is just a recoloring of her old one), and, most importantly of all...she can turn into the giant bird you saw during the events in Winlan. Provided she's your lead character, she'll be able to do this and land damn near anywhere you want to.
What does this mean? Scande, your next destination, can be reached. However, there's going to be a bunch of item collection now that I have the ability to fly.
First off though, getting Nina back made the flea market at Prima (or the one in Tunlan, there's one there too) change up what they can offer.
The items of interest are...
PowerRP - Nina's best weapon.
MaskSH - Likely the best shield for a majority of your team.
EvilRB - Armor for Nina & Bleu. Halves the damage of elemental spells that target them. Could be VERY useful for the boss in Scande.
DwarfBW - Weapon for Bo. His other potential endgame weapon. Not as much attack as the HeroBW, but is one handed, allowing for a shield.
GlowCN - Bleu's best weapon.
Mallet - Ox's best weapon. One handed and tied for the highest attack power with another weapon yet to be found in the game.
