Brief Demonstration of the 101-in-1 Games [p1] - Part 2 of 10 - Good selection of games
This is Part 2 of the 101-in-1 Games [p1]. I hope you enjoy!
In this part, I will briefly demonstrate games 11 through 20 (all of page 2, basically).
00:00 - Beginning of Part 2 of the 101-in-1 Games [p1]
01:00 - Armored Scrum Object/Alpha Mission (Aldha Mission)
03:24 - Castle Excellent
07:50 - Tetris II (Tengen's Tetris)
11:38 - Arkanoid
13:39 - B Wang (B-Wings)
17:28 - 1942
20:51 - Mag Max
25:10 - Spartan X (Kung Fu)
26:28 - Elevator Action
35:02 - Duck (Duck Maze)
38:51 - End of Part 2 of the 101-in-1 Games [p1]
11. Aldha Mission - This game has been covered on MANY pirate multi-carts. Here, they picked the Japanese version of Alpha Mission (which is Armored Scrum Object). There is basically no difference between the two versions.
12. Castle Excellent - Hey, it's Castle Excellent! I already briefly demonstrated this game on the 245-in-1 Real Game (as both Castle Excellent AND Castlequest). I have nothing to say here.
13. Tetris II (Tengen's Tetris) - This is another game I covered (briefly demonstrated) on MANY pirate multi-carts. I have nothing to say here.
14. Arkanoid - Look, you already know what Arkanoid is by now. I have nothing to say here.
15. B Wang (B-Wings) - Seriously, B Wang? I am not sure what the pirate multi-cart makers were going for, but I guess they do not care about their spelling that much. This is another shoot-em-up (like Alpha Mission/Armored Scrum Object), but with one twist - you can choose what power-up you want to start with (on certain stages). For some reason, I chose cannon (which is pretty decent for being one of the starting power-ups). I have briefly demonstrated this game too (multiple times) on some of the pirate multi-carts I briefly demonstrated in the past. B-Wings is okay. (Another thing: some of the letters seem to be slightly hacked).
16. 1942 - This is yet another game I briefly demonstrated a lot on the pirate multi-carts in the past. Again, it is another shoot-em-up (like Alpha Mission and B-Wings). I have nothing to say here.
17. Mag Max - Guess what this is? Surprise, it's another shoot-em-up. The difference between Mag Max and most of the shoot-em-ups are the fact that you can build parts. (Look up the cover art of the USA NES version of this game when you get a chance; you will see some rather Star Wars/G Gundam/Godzilla-esque things). I have already briefly demonstrated this game before on numerous pirate multi-carts, so I do not anything else to say here.
18. Elevator Action - This is yet another arcade-to-NES port. I suppose it's all right, but it's nothing special.
19. Spartan X - This is another arcade-to-NES port. I have nothing to say here.
20. Duck (Duck Maze) - Ahhhh, here we are at game 20 (and at the end of page 2). This is essentially Duck Maze. It's all right, but it's nothing special.
Most of the games on this page are all right. Alpha Mission is decent, Tengen's Tetris is great and Arkanoid is pretty good as well. Tune in for Part 3 of the 101-in-1 Games [p1].
By the way, I am not going to bother counting differently shaped letters as hacks.
HACKS: 1
PIRATES/BOOTLEGS: 4 (Space Fight of Gun, Fantasy of Gun and Abyss of Gloom plus Duck Maze)
BROKEN/GLITCHY PIRATE VERSIONS: 1 (minor)
